BDO Jordan Participates in "Creative Jordan" Training Program Graduation Ceremony

for Supporting the Textile Value Chain to Create Employment and Economic Opportunities in Jordan

Within the framework of the Creative Jordan project implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Jordan, in partnership with the Garment Design and Training Services Center (GSC) and funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), BDO Jordan has participated in the Training Program Graduation Ceremony, which was held on Tuesday morning at Mövenpick Hotel Amman. The ceremony started by a welcoming remark, followed with words by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization’s (UNIDO) Country representative, Mrs.  Sulafa Mdanat, thereafter with the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), Mr. Emilio Cabasino, the Head of AICS Amman, afterword Garment Design & Training Services Center (GSC) Acting CEO Mr. Hassan Nsour, and finally Eng. Azzam Hamaideh, the Advisory Partner of BDO Jordan (Samman & Co.).

Eng. Azzam Hamaideh, highlighted and thanked the efforts that were exerted by all stakeholders of the project including BDO team who implemented the project different phases which included conducting surveys with the target beneficiaries fashion designers and small and medium enterprises SMEs who is working in the textile & garment sector in different governorates of Jordan, where the purpose of the survey was to identify the main gaps in their skills that required training needs whether at the practical technical level or the management level. As per the survey’s analysis outcome, BDO team promoted electronic registration for joining free training sessions for the target beneficiaries of the sector as per certain conditions resulting in training more than 370 training seats. The training was conducted by seasoned instructors on the skills of designing, garment production, digital fashion, business development, marketing and exporting. It is worth mentioning that a number of the registered beneficiaries attended more than one course reaching 180 participants including fashion designers and SMEs. The training contributed to improving trainees’ skills at personal and establishment levels which collectively has an impact on developing the garment and textile sector in the country.

At the end of the ceremony, a video with a few words from the graduates on behalf of the trainees was displayed followed by handing out the certificates to the participants.
