Amman, Jordan – June 2025
BDO Jordan participated in a national stakeholder workshop on financial inclusion with CARE International, held at the Marriott Hotel in Amman. The event convened key actors from across the financial sector—including the Central Bank of Jordan, commercial banks, microfinance institutions, and development organizations—to exchange knowledge and explore innovative approaches to advancing inclusive finance.
The workshop opened with a welcoming note by Caitlin Goggin, the Country Director for CARE International in Jordan, followed by a remark by Dr. Jamal Al-Taraireh, Partner – Financial Advisory Services at BDO Jordan, who introduced the firm’s advisory services and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting inclusive and sustainable economic growth. He emphasized the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration and acknowledged the impactful work of CARE International in Jordan in addressing financial exclusion and enhancing economic resilience among underserved communities.
As part of its technical contribution, Dr. Wafa Abu Samra, Director of Financial Consulting Services at BDO Jordan, presented the findings of a recent impact study titled:
“The Future of Financial Inclusion: The Tahwisha App as a Tool for Community Empowerment.”
Developed in collaboration with CARE International in Jordan, the study evaluated the effectiveness of the “Tahwisha” mobile savings application, analyzed shifts in user behavior, and identified opportunities to strengthen the platform’s sustainability and long-term impact.
Participants expressed strong appreciation for BDO Jordan’s in-depth knowledge, the quality of its training materials, and the professionalism of its technical team. The firm’s ability to translate research into actionable insights and capacity-building tools was highlighted as a key value-add to the ongoing national dialogue on inclusive finance.
This initiative reflects BDO Jordan’s broader role in advancing evidence-based policymaking, economic development, and capacity building. Through its advisory services, the firm supports public and private sector institutions in designing and implementing solutions that promote financial inclusion, strengthen institutional effectiveness, and foster sustainable development.
